New Demography publication: “How Is Fertility Behavior in Africa Different?”
My article, “How Is Fertility Behavior in Africa Different?”, is now published open access in Demography. Using DHS and MICS microdata, I estimate grade-specific fertility across sub-Saharan Africa, East/South Asia, and Latin America. The fertility gap between sub-Saharan Africa and other regions widens through primary school and narrows at higher schooling; the differences are smaller for surviving children than for children ever born.
